About the Grant
The Ink People Center for the Arts announces The Funds for Artists Resilience Grant Program, which will provide grants for projects that benefit the community. This opportunity supports the implementation of creative strategies and adaptive responses to address the challenges of our times. Grant awards will be between $1,000-$7,500, and can be awarded to artists for projects including, but not limited to: community workshops; forums and symposiums that address community needs; projects that address public health, safety, or environmental concerns; public art such as murals, performances, or socially engaged practices; and programs that improves the quality of life for Humboldt County residents and visitors. Grant applications open on Friday, January 19 at 3pm. Consultation is available for community members who would like additional support in applying. Contact us for more information!
The FAR Program will provide grants for Humboldt County artists to create projects for community benefit. This is an opportunity for artists and culture bearers to implement creative strategies and adaptive responses to address the challenges of our times.
Grants can be awarded to artists for projects including, but not limited to the following:
● *Creating public art (a mural, performance, socially engaged practice, etc)
● *Holding a symposium, forum, or exhibition on a topic that addresses community need
● *Offering a community workshop, series of workshops, or community learning experience
● *Addressing public health or safety concerns
● *Addressing environmental concerns
● *Implementing creative strategies for community resilience
● *Engaging under-resourced peoples in a creative effort that promotes wellbeing
● *Offering workforce opportunities through art and culture
● *Implementing programming that improves the quality of life for Humboldt County residents and visitors
Applicants must live in Humboldt County and proposed projects must take place in Humboldt County. Members of historically under-resourced groups and residents of rural
locations (Orick, Garberville, Willow Creek and surrounding areas, for example) are encouraged to apply!
Proposal assessment and funding decisions will be made by a committee comprised of community stakeholders and members of the Humboldt Creative Alliance.
Successful applicants will be required to submit a report, photo(s) and a brief statement regarding their use of grant funds by October 31, 2024.
